WebHidradenitis suppurativa results from dysfunctional hair follicles and apocrine sweat glands that lead to pore clogging, inflammation, and painful abscesses. Hair follicles usually build up with a fibrous protein called keratin (i.e., hyperkeratosis) due to excessive pressure, inflammation, irritation of the skin, or genetics. WebAlso the abdomen, breasts, chest, neck and back. It is not hard to find images of hidradenitis suppurativa online. But a lot of these images come from medical journals and are more severe cases of the disease. So I wanted to share some more photos of my HS and show you what it looks like.
